As children with autism typically find it challenging to communicate with others in words, art can be useful to them. This is especially so when most children with autism are visual thinkers, making art is a good way for self-expression and communication. Due to its fun, stress-free and interesting nature, art can be intrinsically motivating for children with autism. It can be an effective medium to develop vital skills and improve their daily functioning.
Kanon conducts regular art classes uniquely designed for children with special needs. This program encourages students of any limitation to express themselves creatively while engaging with various artistic tools, materials and concepts. The classes are supervised by a trained art tutor.
In addition, AWF arranges an art exhibition for Kanon students once every year. This year's art exhibition was held on 13-15 October 2025.
